Mobile Journalism Workshop
VIRTUAL EVENT DETAILS
Training in mobile journalism in which news is gathered, collected, edited and disseminated using smart mobile phones, can become a powerful tool in telling the stories of people and communities beyond the reach of many media organizations. Training in this medium empowers citizens, content creators, bloggers, journalists to, with minimal and easy-to-use technology, tell compelling stories of forgotten communities, alerting policy makers, donors and readers to their issues, stories and challenges.
The 2-week course is delivered using open-access Zoom/Google Meet, and all editing and production related digital programmes used are free ( or inexpensive) – making it accessible to all. Each module includes theoretical and practical training. Participantsput their learning into action with modular development of a video news story for publication on various platforms. The selected stories to be published on different social media platforms. During the training session students will use a closed Facebook Group where they will share their works & discuss during the training session.
Throughout the training process, students are supported through the Google classroom with regular feedback. The training combines a blended learning experience to meet the courses' objectives.
